Our Holy Land Pilgrimage

November, 2006

A group of Boston Fraternity members and friends went as pilgrims to the Holy Land in November, 2006, led by our chaplain, Fr. Lennie Tighe.

One focus of the trip was the convent of the Little Sisters of Jesus in Nazareth. Following the Beatification of Brother Charles of Jesus in November, 2005, his relics were entrusted to the Little Sisters and now are enshrined in the chapel. It was here that Charles spent countless nights in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, from 1897 to 1900. At that time, the convent belonged to the Poor Clare nuns for whom he worked as servant and handyman.

At the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, the group celebrated mass before the cave where the Blessed Virgin Mary heard the message of the archangel Gabriel.
